A selection of incidents from the police blotter of the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department. Please note that the below information is public record and does not constitute all calls received by the department during the period.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for a person not feeling well.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for his wife who needs to go to the hospital. Croton EMS transported aided to the hospital.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activities
Narrative: A resident of Red Maple Ridge came to headquarters to report that unemployment insurance claims have been filed on behalf of him and his wife. Neither he nor his wife are unemployed or filed for these claims. He filed a complaint with the Department of Labor and wanted the incident documented.

Narrative: A 911 caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident near the Shoprite Plaza. The caller reported no one was injured. Patrols responded to the scene.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched the Croton Fire Department for an outside odor of gas. Patrols responded to the area and advised Con Edison was on scene and handling.

Narrative: A commercial burglar alarm was received by the alarm company. Patrol checked the location and all appeared to be secured.

Narrative: Caller reported an injured deer on Croton Point Avenue over the bridge to the west of the train tracks. Patrol responded and euthanized the deer.

Call Type: Fraudulent Activities
Narrative: Caller reported that he received a scam phone call. Person on the phone identified himself as one of the caller's friends. Caller was instructed to contact an attorney and refer to a certain case number. Caller contacted the number and a person who identified himself as an attorney said that the caller's friend was in an accident and he needed money. Caller then contacted his friend directly who stated that he was perfectly fine and that it was a scam caller.

Narrative: Caller, a home health aide for the aided, reported that their patient is having trouble breathing and requested an ambulance. The aided was transported by Croton EMS to the hospital.

Narrative: Caller reported a white Kia with Georgia license plates is driving erratically on Route 9 northbound from Ossining. Patrols responded to the area and checked for the vehicle with negative results.

Narrative: Caller reported losing her wallet, possibly in the Van Wyck Shopping Center. The lost wallet was described as black and having credit cards as well as British pound currency.

Narrative: Caller reported that their father is very weak and vomiting after taking new medicine. Croton EMS responded and transported the aided to the hospital.

Narrative: Caller reported losing her wallet, possibly in the Van Wyck Shopping Center. The lost wallet was described as black and having credit cards as well as British pound currency.

Narrative: Caller reported that she is at Croton Landing and there are "a lot of people not wearing masks" and they are not all socially distanced. Caller further stated that she thought everyone was required to wear a mask in the park. Patrol responded and reported that those who were not wearing masks were socially distanced. No violations observed.

Narrative: Ossining Police reported receiving a call about an erratic driver in a white Nissan traveling on Route 9 northbound crossing the Croton River bridge. Patrol checked the area with negative results.

Narrative: Caller who went to the hospital earlier in the day has returned home but the hospital did not remove his IV port. 60 Control notified to tone out Croton EMS, who responded and removed the port. No hospital transport needed at this time.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched the Croton Fire Department for an outside odor of gas on Oneida Avenue. Patrol dispatched and confirmed the fire department was on scene.

Call Type: Erratic Vehicle
Narrative: NYSP dispatcher relayed a call for a black SUV traveling at a high rate of speed southbound in the northbound lane of Route 9, last seen near Furnace Dock Road. Patrols responded and canvassed the area with negative results.

Narrative: Alarm company reported a commercial fire alarm at the Grand Street firehouse. 60 Control dispatched the Croton Fire Department who handled the call.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for her husband who is weak and has low blood pressure. Patrols responded with Croton EMS, who transported the aided to the hospital.

Narrative: Caller requested an ambulance for her daughter, who has a skin rash and is acting irrational. Croton EMS responded and the aided refused any medical attention.

Narrative: Caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries. Patrol responded and will file a report.

Narrative: Multiple calls were received for a fox in the area, possibly living on a resident's property. Callers were referred to a local trapper to remedy the situation.

Narrative: A resident of Grand Street came into headquarters reporting that her car was keyed overnight while parked on the street. Patrol took her information and filed a report.

Narrative: Alarm company reported a commercial fire alarm at the Grand Street firehouse. 60 Control dispatched the Croton Fire Department. Patrol reported the alarm was set off in error by contractors at the firehouse.

Call Type: Disorderly Conduct
Narrative: Caller stated there is a fight in progress on Grand Street. A resident is fighting with someone who they believe stole a bicycle belonging to the caller. Patrols responded and interviewed the caller and his mother. The bicycle was stolen over a week ago (not reported). Patrols were unable to make contact with other parties involved.

Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident
Narrative: Caller reported hitting debris that fell from a dump truck while driving on Route 9 northbound. The driver of the dump truck left the scene before information could be exchanged. Patrol dispatched and a report will be filed.

Narrative: 60 Control dispatched Croton EMS for a medical alert alarm with no resident contact. Patrols responded and reported that the individual set off the alarm in error.

Narrative: A 911 hang up call was received from a residence on Melrose Avenue. Patrols dispatched and gained entry to the residence. Homeowner was sleeping and accidentially set off her medical alert alarm. No further action necessary.

Narrative: Caller reported that she went to retrieve her mail from her mailbox which is at the end of her street when she observed a child's winter hat that was hanging on a long roadway guide marker. Then she noticed in the same area on the street a pair of gloves and another winter hat. Caller was concerned that something bad may have occurred. Patrols responded and spoke to the caller and left the items near the mailboxes on Robin Lane.

Narrative: Caller reported a wheelchair folded up against the fence on Municipal Place. Patrol dispatched and reported that the wheelchair appears to be a donation for the Lions Club storage container at that location. Patrol moved the wheelchair to a location closer to the storage container.

Narrative: Caller reported a vehicle struck three to four vehicles in the Shoprite Plaza parking lot. Patrol responded and reported property damage only. A report will be filed.

Narrative: Patrols responded to a report of a verbal dispute in progress. Patrols spoke to all parties involved. Domestic incident report completed and filed.

Narrative: Alarm company reports an alarm at the parking lot trailer at the Croton-Harmon Train Station. Patrol dispatched and reported all was secure.

Narrative: Caller requesting a lift assist for an individual who fell out of bed. No medical response necessary. Patrols dispatched and condition corrected.

Call Type: Hazardous Condition
Narrative: Multiple calls received for a large tree down on Bungalow Road. Patrol reported that the tree fell across the road and it is impassible. The tree also took down a utility pole and struck a house on Bungalow Road, causing significant damage. Con Edison notified and responded to the scene to handle the downed wires. Croton Fire Department and Croton DPW responded to the scene as well.

Narrative: Alarm company reported an alarm at a residence on Sunset Trail. Patrol dispatched and reported the alarm was set off in error by tenant.

Narrative: Caller reported seeing a raccoon on Maple Street and was concerned it may be sick. Patrol checked the area and did not locate the animal.

Narrative: Caller reported locking her keys in her vehicle. Patrol responded and gained entry to the vehicle without incident.

Narrative: Caller reported seeing an unknown male walking in a neighbor's backyard. Patrols responded and reported that the individual lives at the location.

Narrative: Caller reported hearing unknown person(s) inside her residence. Caller's son was supposed to remove property from the residence but he is believed to be out of town. Patrol responded and reported no one in the residence.
