Update on Submission of Absentee Ballots for School Budget Vote

This email is being shared by the Village as it represents an issue of potentially broad interest to the community.

Yesterday morning, Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order 202.39, which extended the deadline for the receipt of mailed absentee ballots in the budget vote/school board election until June 16, 2020 at 5PM.  Executive Order 202.39 specifies that no hand delivered ballots may be accepted by the District Clerk later than 5PM on June 9, 2020.  Any receptacles used for hand delivery of absentee ballots must be closed at 5PM on June 9, 2020.  Accordingly, based upon the Executive Order, the opening and counting of oath/ballot envelopes with absentee ballots sealed therein is postponed until after 5PM on June 16, 2020.

Thank you to the many who have already submitted their ballot and to those who will do so in accordance with the updated deadline. We continue to greatly appreciate the participation of the community throughout the budget process.
