Croton-on-Hudson Prepares for Winter Storm

Parking Available in Village Lots
snow ahead

Heavy snow is forecasted for our area this week. Here are some friendly reminders regarding Village parking regulations during snowfall:

In order to facilitate keeping our streets clear of snow and ice, no parking is allowed on any Village street when there is an accumulation of 2 or more inches of snow. The Village will declare an official end time to each storm, which will be posted on the Village website and social media.

For residents that have no viable off-street parking, parking is available in the following village parking lots for the duration of the storm:

  • Municipal Building Parking Lot
  • Merwin Oak (Holy Name) Parking Lot
  • Asbury Church Parking Lot
  • South Harmon (Benedict Blvd.) Parking Lot

Residents with limited access to off-street parking can apply for a seasonal hardship parking permit. The application is accessible at https://croton.seamlessdocs.com/f/seasonalparking2023. Hardship permit holders must move their vehicles no later than 12 hours after the snow stops. Vehicles must be relocated to off-street locations and may be parked on the Village right-of-way area directly in front of the vehicle owner’s residence, except that vehicles may not be parked on any part of a street, sidewalk, or curb.

The Village thanks you in advance for clearing your sidewalk of snow and ice — doing so creates a safer environment for our pedestrians and especially children who walk to school. Sidewalks not cleared after the prescribed 12 hours will be cleared by the Village’s contractor and billed to the property owner.

All residents are strongly encouraged to follow the Village's social media account on Facebook, where updates will be posted, as well as through the village E-Alert system. Additionally, any emergency notifications will be sent via the Code Red system.
