Gnomeo and Juliet ask the legendary Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case of the missing garden gnomes in London. Popcorn night! Part of the Recreation Department Summer Movie Series. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic, enjoy the sunset and stay for the movies. In case of rain, movies are shown on the next evening. All movies are rated G or PG.

Our Saviour’s annual tag sale will happen on July 20th at 9:00 AM. All sorts of items can be found. 10% of all funds go to a local charity as well.
 
CCI Reusable Bag Giveaway
Sunday, July 21 – 10 AM to 1 PM
The Black Cow
 
To help make the transition away from plastic and paper easier, Croton Climate Initiative (CCI) volunteers will be distributing reusable bags on Sunday, July 21st, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at The Black Cow. The giveaway is planned in anticipation of the New York State law banning single use plastic bags, which goes into effect on March 1, 2020. Please come and take advantage of this free event!
 
Croton Arboretum Annual Garden Tour

The Croton Arboretum’s 23rd annual garden tour will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. This ever-popular event will offer participants a private, self-guided tour of six beautiful gardens in the Croton area. Tickets are $20 each (or $35 for two, if purchased in advance). The tour is limited to 200 participants, so order your tickets today by calling (914) 487-3830. Croton Little League Trip to Yankees Game

Join Croton Little League players, coaches and parents as the New York Yankees take on the Colorado Rockies at Yankee Stadium. The cost is $60 per ticket and all tickets are in sections 208 and 209 (2nd tier – right field corner). Please email ticket requests to andy@poseidonhomeinspections.com. Checks should be made payable to Croton Little League and sent to 5 Windsor Road Croton on Hudson, NY 10520. Tickets cannot be guaranteed until payment is received. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis and there is no limit to how many you can purchase.

A Universe of Stories Theatre Performance

Universe of Stories theatre performance at the Croton Free Library for grades 6-12! The theme for the 2019 Summer Reading program in New York State is “Universe of Stories”. Come to the Library and share your stories. We will jointly develop a theatre piece to perform from the stories that we share.
 
Birders U: Shorebird ID Intro/Review

Join us for this refresher/intro multimedia workshop on identifying shorebirds. Cost is $15/person for members of any Audubon group or youth age 10-18 and includes an ID book and handouts; $30/nonmember adult which includes above plus new membership in Saw Mill River Audubon. The Bossy Frog Band

Jeffrey Friedberg and The Bossy Frog Band thrill young audiences with their banjo-driven, costume-character-dancing, 100% interactive music concert. Their show has been enjoyed by over 100,000 children and families! And, their latest recording, “15 Songs Every Kid Should Know (and will LOVE!),” is a Parents’ Choice Award winner. It’s all part of the summer reading fun at the Croton Free Library. The Summer Reading Game continues: June 24 through August 17. Share your reading with the Children’s Room helpers often and collect your treats.
 
Croton Reservoir & Dam Hike

Easy 2-mile (total) hike north along the Aqueduct and atop the beautiful Croton Dam.  Meet near the restrooms at the parking lot at Croton Gorge Park, Rte. 129, Cortlandt, NY 10567. (Note: parking fee of $10, May – Sept.)  The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam, the trailhead of the Aqueduct Trail.
 
Earring Design with Joan Lloyd

Express your creative side with artist Joan Lloyd, as she teaches you how to design and bead your very own earrings in this two-hour workshop. Choose from a vast variety of colorful beads to make one-of-a-kind earrings for yourself or a special someone. You’ll also have an opportunity to donate an additional pair of earrings of your own design to a local women’s shelter. Registration required. Hudson National GC Amateur Tournament
August 1 through August 4
 
Hudson National will be hosting the Metropolitan Golf Association Amateur (MGA) Golf Tournament from August 1 to August 4. The 117th Met Amateur is the MGA’s oldest championship. The top amateurs from around our area will compete in 36 holes of stroke play to secure a space in the final 16 spots of match play over four days. During this tournament, residents are welcome to follow players around the course and enjoy the expansive view of the Hudson River from the course (please note – golf attire is required; no denim). Food and refreshments will be available for purchase (cash only) at the halfway house at the 9th hole and the main clubhouse.
