Village of Croton-on-Hudson
Local Law Introductory No. 3 of the year 2005
A local law prohibiting the parking of vehicles on village sidewalks and curbs
Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Croton-on-Hudson as follows:
Section 1. Section 215-29 Seasonal Parking, Letters A and B are amended to read as follows:
A. Vehicles shall be allowed to remain standing on any street or public highway within the corporate limits of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson except when otherwise prohibited by this Chapter or any other Chapter of the Croton-on-Hudson Code and except when snow accumulates to two or more inches.
B. Upon an accumulation of two or more inches of snow, no vehicle of any kind shall be allowed to remain standing on any street or public highway until the snow has ended and the road cleared of snow. Vehicles must be relocated to off-street locations and may be parked on the Village right-of-way area directly in front of the vehicle owner’s residence except that vehicles may not be parked on any part of a street, sidewalk, or curb. All vehicles in violation of this section are subject to towing.
Section 2. The title of Section 197-1 is renamed to read Riding, Driving, and Parking on Sidewalks.
Section 3. Section 197-1 the first sentence in letter A is amended to read as follows:
The first sentence of letter A is amended to read as follows: No person shall ride or drive any bicycle, motorcycle, automobile, trailer, or other vehicle upon any sidewalk or curb in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, except in necessarily crossing the same.
Section 4. Section 197-1 a new letter B is added to read as follows:
B. No person shall park any part of any bicycle, motorcycle, automobile, trailer, or other vehicle upon any sidewalk or curb in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
Section 5. This Local Law shall be effective upon filing in the office of the Secretary of State.
