Enforcement of Rights-of-Way Law Begins

On February 3rd, the Village Board adopted Local Law 3 of 2020 which prohibits the posting, scattering, placing and tossing of notices and advertisements in the Village’s rights-of-way. This includes telephone and street light poles, as well as the grass strip between the sidewalk and the roadway. Beginning July 13, 2020, the Village’s Code Enforcement Officer will begin enforcement of this new law. Any signage that a resident wishes to keep should be removed from the Village’s right-of-way to private property. Signage can be placed on your front lawn provided it complies with the Village’s Zoning Code. If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact the Engineering Department at 271-4783.
